Girls Generation - The Boys. I know this is long time ago, but i heard it b4 i booked in and kept listening to it lol. Anyway i think the english version is nicer than the korean version.



It has been almost a month since i enlisted. So fast lol.. time really flies, and next week i am gonna collect my a level results. Doesn't matter whether i get to book out on thursday night or friday morning, as my house is so near to my school. Of course i hope i can book out on thursday night, at least can come home slack.




When the previous batch of students collected their A levels results, i was still in J2, and i was so envious of them. No more JC curriculum for them, no more study stress. Then i told myself, 1 year later this time, i will be as carefree as them. And this day came (: Hope i can get up on stage to collect my A level results ^^




Army life had been pretty smooth sailing for me, and in there, you will realise time flies very fast. I got silver for my IPPT, 23 points over 25 (: 2 more pull ups and 0.2 secs faster for shuttle run and i would have gotten full marks zz. My 2.4km run was 10:05, i got a shock myself. Looks like all the running programs help. SBJ 250cm, sit up 45, shuttle run 10.2s, pull up 10. I cleared SOC too, so no more SOC in BMTC ^^ Last IPPT must get gold, can get money. Must run under 9:45, i can do it!




First 2 weeks in army is quite slack, just checking all the items, learning all the technical stuff and attending talks. 3rd weeks is when all the physical training kicks in, like finally. But also not much. Trust me, when you book out for the 1st time, you will feel damn happy. Like i did haha.




Nothing much last week, cause the whole week was mainly IPPT test and SOC. Learned the technical part about throwing practice grenade and about the SAR21.

Recently went for countdown with my friends, camped at Just Acia for lunch, played pool at 1am and watched darkest hours at 2am. Wow what a way to start a year with such a movie, but the movie is pretty cool i think, although not much storyline and character development. A few achievements to be proud of? Yet another year had passed.

New year, new beginning.. 2011 went by in a flash i must admit, and had been a pretty interesting year too. 2011 was the year where i am in my second year of JC curriculum. Many things happened, just glad that it is finally over. Every year, a new challenge arises, and we got to embrace it with open arms..

In this process of embracing challenges, different people have different approaches. And one similarity would be change. Everyone change, including me.. Change for the better, or change for the worst.. Change physically? or just a new facade to hide another change..

One thing i noticed is that before A levels, people work hard for it. Now after A levels, where it's the time to relax and recollect before entering NS, people are working hard at part time job. Working hard to make life easy? Cool. Gotta check out what's so special about this part time job that devours the tired souls into it man. Money? Or experience like some might say.

Alright just side tracking. Back from ormen chalet and it was quite a successful one i think, as everyone took time out of their busy schedule to attend it, some even at the expense of their lesson time :P From secondary school where we don't even know each other, till now where we are going to enter NS as men.. Wow it's been a while!

Planning a chalet can be quite sucky man lol, cock ups here and there and to find a suitable date where everyone can make it.. Just glad that it ended well.. The best part of the chalet is the Wild Wild Wet i think, played till damn tired but didn't play till so tired for a while :)

First day went to BK for lunch at White sands, before checking in. Slacked around before having dinner at BBQ chicken. Basically the first day was pretty much slacking LOL. Got all kinds of entertainment, mahjong, poker cards, Monopoly deal, cluedo.. cool first time getting 3 hours of sleep in chalet after watching soccer. Got Carroll service which made me rofl

Second day, breakfast at the food court, followed by pineapple rice for lunch, before going wild wild wet. When the bell went ding, we will chiong there and let water splash from the big bucket, pretty epic but cool. We also spammed all kinds of rides there too, and running around on those floors with bare feet, pain but who cares lol.

Had fried rice for dinner and was pretty free and easy after that. Played a few in a circle games like murderer, an improved version and 007. Kept playing until around 4+ where everyone's tired out and sleeping. Couldn't get to sleep as it was damn squeezy, so decided to get off bed and just slack around.

Went for early mac breakfast with berton at around 6+ as we both couldn't sleep. Returned at around 7 and the rest were still soundly asleep, so we decided to make a move first.

Wow 1:56 am already, better go and get some sleep if not tmr basketball sure zzz one :P

Made this myself out of boredom LOL. Anyway been a while since i updated my blog so decided to post a bit. Changed my blogskin too, this new one's pretty cool i think haha.Hmm the past 2 weeks had been really busy for me, been going out almost everyday.. But yeah no more studying and that's a good thing! So now is just play play play until NS -.-

Lets go back to 3:15 on 1 december, after my last Bio paper. Omg the feeling is different from O levels! Its a much heavier burden compared to O levels. Now its finally gone! Hope can get some gay results this time, so that i can hopefully get a no bond scholarship and go NUS (:

Can't really remember much of the events, but one significant one would be my bro's wedding. First time being my bro's 'brother', as in those that tag along with the groom to do all the 'punishments' by the bride's side 'sisters'. It was quite a new experience for me, had to dance in formal shirt and eat crap -.-

Lol nothing much in the noon before the wedding dinner commences. First time attending a wedding dinner that i can remember, and it's my bro wedding haha. Got to sit at the VIP table too, and our food is all prepared for each and everyone of those at VIP table, instead of taking the food from the center. The food not bad, got roast chicken, fish, scallop all these.The photo taking at each and every table was quite tiring for me as there are like lots and lots of table..

Another one would be the prom night. First time attending prom at Swiss Merchant court, woodlands ring no prom sad. At the hotel everyone was dressed smartly and formally, and soon the event started. I wasn't expecting really nice food, but the food was quite nice i must say, although it's the pretty standard hotel food i guess. Went to walk around Singapore river after that, then went home.

The rest of the events are mainly buffet, pool, slack, basketball all the standard events LOL.

Chem paper 1 is over, bio paper 1 tomorrow. Not feeling angsty or whatsoever, but more of excited when the the clock strikes 3:15, which means the end of A levels. When everyone's busy with their chem paper 1, my thoughts drifted to my future university life.




Thinking about travelling to and fro Clementi, walking down a path of familiar faces, attending lectures just like in JC, chilling with friends at the canteen waiting for time to pass. Seems great. Again i wondered, who will be there with me, and who will be there for me. Till then, when a new chapter is written for my uni life, i recollected my thoughts and came back to the school hall, with my MCQ staring at me. Gosh lucky i was still able to finish the MCQ with around 5 minutes to spare.



Nevertheless it is still fun to just think of such non-related stuff during an important exam, keeps you anticipating for the candy floss like a kid (: Realized that there's no point studying so hard for mcqs, where all the answers are written among the choices.




Back to my random collection of thoughts, if i were to reminisce about JC life in university, what will it be? i guess it will be all the class outings and holiday mood all the way throughout JC1 and the scarce fun times during JC2.




Had been slacking at RP when i was supposed to be studying a few occasions. Pool, bridge, donkey, monopoly deal. Nice, but on a side note, it's pretty amazing that after quite some time, ormen is still quite united, the friendly and kiddish moments are still there, where we can still put aside our emotional baggage, gather and just crap for a while. There's also an upcoming ormen chalet, looking forward to it ^^

Classic paradox.




Had been a while.. A levels are finally over! (except mcq) Been going out to slack past few days, lol it was a deserved break after all those exams.. Going to RP to 'study' with my friends later LOL




After bio paper 3 on monday, went out with my friends to SSC recce and accompany them buy slippers. Then went to play pool at nights time. Played for quite a while, then went for dinner at KFC. The chocolate tart is damn nice man! Went home after that.




Tuesday, went to sing k at ssc with my friends again. Sing for like 3hours lol, and i also knew some some songs when i see my friends choose. It is damn cheap, $4 per person, for 3 hours. normally kbox is like around $10 -.-



Walked around ssc after that and took a shuttle bus back to yishun, before going for dinner at Thai restaurant. Went there a lot of times with my family already but still not bad haha.. Then went to northpoint slacked a while before going back causeway. Accompany friend buy clothes a while then go home.




Wednesday, went to claymore, orchard for dinner and birthday celebration with my family. There the ambiance quite good, quite quiet also. The food is not bad, got oysters, lobsters, sashimi, and some other random dishes. Got kangaroo meat too, cool but just normal taste. The desserts are also good, got the custard with sugar coating on top, very nice!



The staff there also got me a cake and sang me a birthday song (: so unexpected but nice of them haha. Made a wish too and hope it come true ^^




Regarding As, let's see.. Maths is quite easy, just one or 2 parts unsure and hope don't careless. Followed by Chem. No freaking organic deduction questions, quite manageable too. Then Econs, all the questions are pretty direct, not sure whether my essay's points are sufficient.. Bio was supposed to be easy, but i think i no talent for it lol. Although i had time to finish everything, i didn't answer some question fully. Lastly GP, well, GP is see luck, but should be okay.

Cool 2 more days to A levels, i am actually looking forward to it as after each A level paper, i know i won't be touching these papers for life (: If you are reading this instead of studying, kudos to you as you know that it is important to relax too ^^




Alright, for those who are taking a break from studying (i assume), or even poly people who are probably carefree now, here are some strategies that i use when i study.




Firstly, the most important trick, never ever think of mugging etc. 4 or 5 hours straight. Unless you are a mugging otaku, you will not be efficient at all trust me. Instead, every 25 minutes or half an hour, take a short break before continuing. Give your mind a break, and yourself too. You can absorb knowledge for long term, rather than cramming.




Secondly, know your body. Know when is your peak time, as in you won't feel distracted during that period of time, and study. If you chose a time when you are extremely tired to study, again you won't be efficient as well. Listening to music helps too. To hell with classical music helps you relax and stuff like that, just listen to your favorite songs (:




Lastly, time management. During exams, never exceed the time allocation for each section of the paper. Lets say for GP, if you allocate half an hour to summary (which is reasonable), then adhere to it. even if you can't finish, move on. The opportunity cost is high, and you likely to lose momentum if you get stuck at a particular section, and might even lose heart, affecting your overall performance.




Notice that all the 3 tips are closely tied in with time. So time is money, study smart not hard. ALL THE BEST FOR A LEVELS!! :D

Last Sunday, 23 October, man u got outplayed by man city at their home ground, old trafford. Of course some luck as some might describe, but its the scoreline that ultimately matters. 1-6, was totally shocked, but it was possible. Old trafford's ain't any stronghold. Liverpool achieved a 4-1 at old trafford too seasons ago, during the cristiano ronaldo regime.




Although liverpool ain't the kickass team out there, but they have pulled it through many established teams. Man u, chelsea, inter, real madrid, barcelona, etc.. They have not only done it once, but many time. This is one of the aspects that captivated, even now, the unpredictability of soccer.




Alright back to reality, exactly 2 more weeks to A level. First paper, Chemistry P3 on 8 November, to Bio P1 on 1 december. This is the time that i have been waiting for, the ticket to freedom, or freedom that lasts? Well guys there's NS to go, coming in around 2 months. How free is that may i ask? Well this is singapore.




How is A levels different from O levels? Apart from the level of difficulty, one of the major difference will be the environment. Back in secondary school, it is not so stressful. Now in JC, the benches outside staffroom will always be filled with students seeking consultations, library filled with students studying.




And i thought that this won't be the case in innova. Looks like i am wrong. This is the age where going for 1001 consultations will guarantee you a good A level certificate? Well i guess so.




I felt the difference from Prelims I to Prelims II, which i 'deproved' in Prelims II. Maybe it's a good thing that i actually didn't do as well as prelims I, so that i will actually buck up for A levels.




Well to everyone taking A levels, this will be the final test. Our future is in our own hands, so all the best (:
